The short version.

I qualified as a solicitor at Clifford Chance in 2001 and spent a decade there - including seven years on one of the leading mis-selling cases in English litigation. I was then seconded to BNP Paribas, arriving just as Lehman Bros collapsed, and was asked to stay and build the disputes and investigations function. I did, staying for 14 years as Head of Group Dispute Resolution for the UK, Channel Islands and Nordics managing some of the most significant regulatory investigations and disputes in global banking.

I then joined Norton Rose Fulbright as a partner before setting up on my own, which is where I wanted to be.

Independent, focused, directly involved with every client I take on.

For the last ten years I have served on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal — first as a member, then on the Board, and now as President, Chair and interim Managing Director. It's the body that decides what happens when solicitors get it seriously wrong. Leading it has shaped everything about how I approach governance, professional standards and the importance of getting process and outcomes right.

Outside the day job: eleven years as a school governor, latterly deputy chair, chairing the compliance, nominations and remuneration committees and sitting on the parental and internal complaints panel — with an ISI compliance inspection graded outstanding.

A Samaritans listening volunteer and leader. Recently appointed to the Independent Monitoring Board at HMP High Down. I founded the women’s legal network at BNP Paribas and sat on the women’s steering committee at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Fair outcomes matter to me — and so does the human cost of getting there, whether that’s through the stress of leading a board, being the target of an investigation, embroiled in litigation, facing an employment suspension or accused in tribunal proceedings.

Integrity, committment and fairness is at the heart of everything I do.
